# Playing SALVO in the browser

SALVO is artillery: you and your friends take turns lobbing shells at each
other across destructible terrain, adjusting for wind, until one tank is left
standing. It is played **a turn at a time, whenever you like** — fire, close
the tab, come back tomorrow. This is the whole guide; the game does not need
a manual.

## Play

1. Open **[salvo.nitzan.games](https://salvo.nitzan.games)** and sign in with
   Google.
2. Click **New match**. You are its host, and you get an invite link (and a
short invite code) to share with whoever else is playing — send it however
you'd send a link to anyone: chat, text, email.
3. Once everyone has joined through your link, click **Start match** (only
the host sees this button — everyone else just waits for it). Each round
opens with everyone aiming at the same time; turns then go in order.
4. **On your turn**, aim by dragging on the board from your tank toward
where you want to land — release to set the angle and power — or type
exact numbers into the angle and power fields if you want to be precise.
Pick a weapon from the dropdown, then click **Fire**.
5. Watch the shot land. If it's not your turn, the board still animates as
the current shot plays out, and a line of text under the board narrates
what happened — hits, destroyed tanks, falls, and so on.
6. **Between rounds**, the shop opens: spend the cash you earned on weapons
and gear (shields, fuel, parachutes), then click **Ready up**. Once
everyone is ready, the next round starts.
7. The match ends when one tank is left standing across all rounds — the
board says who won and links you back to your matches.

Changed your mind about a match? **Resign** is in the top corner of the
board, away from Fire, and always asks you to confirm first — a resignation
can't be undone.

You don't have to be online at the same time as anyone else. Take your turn,
close the tab, and the game is exactly as you left it next time you open the
link — including catching you up on anything you missed while you were away.

It works on a phone too: the same board and controls, just stacked instead
of side by side on a narrow screen.
